Industrial Electrician - Entry Level

Basic Job Functions:

Nucor Steel Auburn, Inc. has an opening for an Industrial Electrician - Entry Level Technician. The successful candidate will be required to perform basic electrical duties and develop knowledge of industrial electrical equipment through on-the-job training with supplemental training courses as needed. After completion of a structured list of competencies, the candidate will be required to transition to an Electrical Technician by bidding on all open positions. This position will be responsible for performing basic electrical duties, such as preventative and predictive maintenance, installing/replacing/wiring equipment, troubleshooting electrical circuits, and assisting Electrical Technicians with more complex tasks. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Two-year degree in an electrical field or trade/military school in an industrial electrical field. Course content must include basic electrical circuit analysis
• Valid driver's license

• Willingness to take on responsibilities and challenges
• Knowledge of basic electrical circuit analysis, reading schematics, and electrical components (motors, motor control, transformers, relays, electronics, wiring)
• Identifying problems and analyzing orreviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
• Being reliable, responsible, and committed to fulfilling obligations.
• Working as part of a coordinated effort with others to achieve a common goal.
• Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from relevant sources.

• Bachelor's degree in an electrical field
• Experience working with shop tools and electrical/mechanical equipment.
• Competency with computer systems and Microsoft Office suite applications
