Summary/Objective:

We are looking for a skilled industrial maintenance technician to oversee the implementation of improvement projects, installation and maintenance of our industrial equipment and facility.

As an industrial project maintenance technician, you will be responsible for continuous improvement of the equipment, machining new parts, analyzing processes to identify inefficiencies, implementing process improvements, developing process documentation, and monitoring process performance. This will include installing new equipment, troubleshooting equipment breakdowns, and developing long term fixes and solutions for mechanical failures and breakdowns.

To ensure success as an industrial project maintenance technician, you should have advanced mechanical knowledge of industrial machinery, excellent machining and fabrication skills, excellent troubleshooting skills, and good time-management skills.

The primary goal is to maintain efficiency and quality in the work setting through evaluating current business practices and looking for ways to improve.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following.

    • Collaborate with different departments in projects that support in reducing downtime and scrap, and safety improvements.
    • Evaluate and improve manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; incorporating new methods and techniques; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, tooling, and materials; soliciting observations from operators; studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment.
    • Assist in determining root cause and provide corrective action with customer product complaints and validate implemented manufacturing process improvements to ensure desired results.
    • Set-up and operate all machine tools including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and shapers.
    • Carry through to completion the construction and repair of all kinds of metal parts, tools, machines, and attachments for machine repairs and/or upgrades.
    • Perform duties such as assembling, dismantling, moving, installing, or repairing to blueprint specifications.
    • Follow all safety rules and procedures including Lockout/Tagout program, housekeeping and observe the operations to ensure a safe work environment.
    • Inspect and assess the functionality of production machines.
    • Troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns.
    • Adjust mechanical parts using hand and machine tools.
    • Communicate with the production team and maintain a clean work area.
    • Manage activities of cost reduction projects.
    • Develop project objectives and plans by reviewing the overall scope with the management team.
    • Accomplish all work orders to maintain safety; reduce downtime; decrease scrap; improve quality production; and improve plant efficiency.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned.

The employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms (overhead reaching), requires the ability to lift, carry, push or pull medium weights, up to 75 pounds, and talk or hear. The employee is required to frequently sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
