ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with faculty on needs assessment, learning analysis, course design, and development in areas of facegen, course architecture and navigation, content sequencing, and assessment development. Consult with faculty, executive, and professional program clients on appropriate learning methodologies, teaching styles, and instructional strategies to improve learning outcomes.
Using sound instructional design principles and methodologies, design/redesign engaging instructional programs for academic courses and professional and executive programs. This may include materials development and/or online course development for in-person, online, and hybrid modalities. Manage executive and professional programs' instructional design and development process to ensure quality courses are created within established deadlines and meet program/course learning objectives.
Create and/or coordinate the acquisition or production of interactive media elements such as video, graphics, and animations in consultation with team media specialists. Builds out course content and component features into the learning management system.
Provides support and training to faculty and facilitators on instructional methodologies and technology, including creating tutorials or train-the-trainers in written and media-based formats. Collaborate with IT and Academic Technology staff to develop best practices for implementing academic technologies. Communicates with the Office of Distance Learning to stay abreast of updates in academic technology. As needed, provide ID support and guidance to other College of Business Centers and Institutes.
QualificationsBachelor's degree and two years of experience or a high school diploma/equivalent and experience equal to six years. (Post-high school education can substitute for experience at the equivalent rate.)
Ability to convey technical information to technical and non-technical users.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Ability to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
Experience with instructional systems development (ISD) models, applications, and best practices.
Experience with learning management systems (e.g., Canvas) and instructional course tools.
