INTERIM - HEAD WOMEN'S BASKETBALL COACH/ HES INSTRUCTOR

Under direction of the Chief Instructional Officer (CIO) is responsible to teach related HES classes (includes 50% assignment to teach intercollegiate basketball and other classes as assigned). Under general direction of the Director of Athletic Operations and Events is responsible to coordinate, recruit, plan, organize and coach a community college intercollegiate women's basketball program (includes 50% assignment release time to coach, recruit, and plan an intercollegiate women's basketball team, includes weekends and evenings as required during fall and spring semesters). Potential summer duties may include camp/clinic instruction/supervision, recruiting, program development and other related activities.

MINIMUM RECRUITING PERFORMANCE CRITERIA:

* Minimum of 13 players

Required Qualifications

* Master's in physical education, education with an emphasis in physical education, kinesiology, physiology of exercise, or adaptive physical education OR Bachelor's in any of the above AND Master's in any life science, dance, physiology, health education, recreation administration, or physical therapy OR A current California Community College Credential that permits full-time service as an instructor in physical education, OR Education and experience that is at least the equivalent of items above

* Basketball coaching experience

* Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic and socio-economic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students and staff

* Possess or be able to obtain, and maintain a valid class B (with passenger endorsement) commercial driver's license and have a satisfactory driving record

* CPR and First Aid certification (if not held, to be obtained within three months of hire)
