General Statement of Duties:

The Intern will assist in a support role to the Atlanta office for a fixed period of time from Sept. 1, 2022 to June 30 2023. The position will interact with the business development, marketing, design and technology professionals within the Firm's Marketing Team, as well as Firm attorneys and administrative departments. The position will report to the Atlanta attorneys and the Atlanta Office Administrator.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist attorneys to translate legal documents and correspondences between English and Chinese for Chinese clients.
  • Attend business meetings with Chinese clients as translator.
  • Assist attorneys with business development activities to ensure attorney objectives are met.
  • Coordinate and translate pitch materials by drafting, editing, collecting and/or organizing content received by attorneys.
  • Work with attorneys to develop customized materials for prospect/client pitches and presentations.
  • Ensure follow-up is sought from attorneys post pitch; track and follow through on actions that arise.
  • Assist with maintaining practice group marketing content to ensure that material is up-to-date.
  • Coordinate the development of customized materials for designated practices.
  • Conduct web-based research when needed/required.
  • Develop targeted mailing lists.
  • Provide back-up as needed to fellow members of the team.

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:
  • Legal education in both U.S. and China is required, undergraduate degree is required, and advanced degree is preferred.
  • Certain experience working in a professional environment such as law firm, corporation and courts is required.
  • Must be bilingual in English and Chinese.
  • Strong work ethic and client service orientation.
  • Strong proofreading and computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Commitment to professional growth and development.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with the appropriate discretion.
  • Ability to follow instructions, prioritize and manage workload, work independently and as a member of teams, and complete tasks under time pressure as necessary.
  • Professionalism when interacting with internal and external contacts.

Additional Information:

Supervisory Responsibility - None

Work Environment - In office.

Position Type/Expected Work Hours - This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel - Little to no travel in this position.
