Home to NASCAR's Championship Weekend, Phoenix Raceway has been the premier motorsports venue in the Southwest since 1964 and hosts two NASCAR race weekends each year. In March, the Ruoff Mortgage 500 NASCAR Weekend kicks off the race season at Phoenix Raceway, featuring the NASCAR Cup Series, NASCAR Xfinity Series and ARCA Menards Series. In November, champions will be crowned in the NASCAR Cup Series, NASCAR Xfinity Series, NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and ARCA Menards Series West. Phoenix Raceway also hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including corporate meetings and conferences, charity events, holiday events, sport and endurance competitions, driving schools and Segway tours.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Intern, Track Communications - West Region to join NASCAR in our Phoenix Raceway office for the Fall semester.

The intern will be responsible for supporting communication efforts for Phoenix Raceway, including NASCAR Championship Weekend.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Assist with media relations for various Phoenix Raceway events through NASCAR Championship Weekend

• Support Track Communications team in the development of promotional materials and media coverage reports

• Draft press releases, media alerts and tips sheets to enhance local media coverage

• Compile key graphic assets for media distribution

• Assist with execution of NASCAR Championship Weekend media events

• Provide media center support during race weekend, including pre-race and post-race press conferences

• Capture audio, video and photo content during key Phoenix Raceway events

Qualifications:

To qualify for this paid internship, candidates must have completed at least their sophomore year of college and must currently be an undergraduate or graduate student in good standing with at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA.

• Must work a flexible work schedule including evenings and weekend for event support

• Strong computer knowledge
