JAS is an international, non-asset-based supply chain services and solutions company. Our services include air and ocean freight forwarding, contract logistics, customs brokerage, distribution, inbound logistics, truckload brokerage and other supply chain management services, including consulting, the coordination of purchase orders and customized management services.

The Tax Accountant will be responsible to supervise and control for the taxation analysis and country tax management..

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Ensuring all preliminary tax obligations for the branches are met, includes calculation of the amount, forecasting with treasury and booking
  • Preparation of work papers for the quarterly provision process
  • Responsibility for preparing monthly account reconciliations
  • Assistance with annual audit planning.
  • Draft reply letters to queries and advisory letters to clients
  • Participate in investigations and field audit, prepare analyses and other special jobs
  • Prepare and file profits tax returns, individuals' tax returns and other tax compliance matters
  • Take up ad hoc assignments.
  • Responsible for the preparation of corporate tax returns for Branches and Subsidiaries
  • Responsible for the compilation of the appropriate documentation to support the filings.
  • Responsibility for the preparation of the monthly calculation to support our monthly compliance commitments
  • Ensuring the process is followed, including regular liaison with JAS WW policy.
  • Ensuring process documentation is updated after each annual filing
  • Working with the Assistant Manager to respond to tax office queries and audits in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Involvement in cross functional tax projects.
  • Assisting Corporate Tax Manager with planning opportunities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Degree holder with major in Accounting
  • 1+ years relevant working experience in Tax or Accounting
  • Intermediate level of Microsoft Excel required
  • Strong self-motivation and ability to work under pressure
  • Good communication, interpersonal and analytical skills
  • Technical Experience Areas: Administration, Taxation, reporting and finance registration know-how.
  • Computer Systems: Office and finance report system SAP, Cognos, etc. (user level)

ENVIRONMENT:

100% performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; walk; use hands and finger to feel and handle; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, and crouch; lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 25 pounds.
