Responsibilities:

The Interventional Radiology Technologists (IR-Technologist) is a specialized radiologic-technologist with post-primary training in Interventional Radiology. Works with proceduralists (Interventional Radiologist, Interventional Neurologists, Vascular Surgeons, Interventional Cardiologists...) as part of a procedural team to perform interventional procedures. Operates medical imaging equipment (single and bi-plane fluoroscopic angiographic equipment, Ultrasound, Intravascular Ultrasound IVUS) and assists with device management. The procedures range from routine diagnostic angiographic procedures to complex vascular, non-vascular-interventional, and therapeutic procedures.

Qualifications:

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
MINIMUM REQUIRED: Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology.


LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
MINIMUM REQUIRED: Current BLS certification.

California Department of Public Health, Radiologic Health Branch, Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) and California Radiologic Technologist Flouroscopy Permit (CRTFP).

PREFERRED: American Registry Radiologic Technologist, Vascular Interventional ARRT (VI), American Registry Radiologic Technologist, Cardiac Interventional ARRT(CI), American Registry Radiologic Technologist, Cardiac-Vascular Interventional *ARRT(CVI), American Registry Radiologic Technologist, Diagnostic Radiology ARRT(R).
