Essential Functions:

Provide day-to-day performance monitoring and database tuning of the corporate wide MS SQL environment with a focus on application performance, operating system resource utilization, and database architecture design

Install, configure, and support MS SQL Replication across multiple sites in a production environment.

Install, configure and support MS SQL Log Shipping with a focus on Disaster Recovery.

Install, configure, and support multiple native tools to monitor and report on MS SQL historical and real time performance metrics.

Install, configure, and support third-party tools, including Idera and Logic Monitor, to monitor and report on MS SQL historical and real time performance metrics.

Install, configure, and support MS SQL SSRS to provide user defined reports for manufacturing, distribution, and finance.

Support SQL databases for Oracle EnterpriseOne ERP system with a focus on finance systems, including international exchange support, and manufacturing and distribution systems integrated with RFGen Scanning System.

Coordinate cross-functional data-administration implementation teams.

Build and manage a multi-platform data warehouse environment consisting of MS SQL databases, various legacy databases, third-party databases, multi-functional spreadsheets, and flat files generated by custom proprietary stand-alone systems.

Analyze and improve technical and business-related transactional data.

Serve in a strategic direction-setting role for all MS SQL technical services over a rolling five-year horizon with a focus on visionary features and technologies aligned with corporate business requirements.

Identify and arrange business, functional, technical, and data-relationship requirements for MS SQL services and translate requirements into technical specifications for manufacturing, distribution, and financial applications.

Confirm all SQL programming changes by executing integrated business operations test cases with technical managers and using release management protocols and accepted enterprise systems development lifecycle processes.

Write and maintain user documentation, training materials, and technical manuals.



Educational and Experience Requirements



Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

8 years of experience with MS SQL performance monitoring and database tuning, 3 years of which involve designing database architecture.

Experience with configuring and supporting MS SQL Replication across multiple sites in a production environment.

Experience with coordinating cross-functional database-administration implementation teams.

Experience with using multiple native tools to monitor and report on MS SQL historical and real time performance metrics.

Experience with using third-party tools, such as Idera and Logic Monitor, to monitor and report on MS SQL historical and real time performance metrics.

Experience building and managing a multi-platform data warehouse environment consisting of MS SQL databases, various legacy databases, third-party databases, multi-functional spreadsheets, and flat files generated by custom proprietary stand-alone systems.

Experience with MS SQL SSRS to provide user defined reports for manufacturing, distribution, or financial analysis.

Experience with configuring and supporting MS SQL Log Shipping with a focus on Disaster Recovery.

Experience with supporting SQL databases for financial systems, including international exchange support.

Experience with supporting SQL databases for manufacturing or distribution systems integrated with scanning-system applications.

Experience with supporting MS SQL under an Oracle EnterpriseOne system.

Experience with analyzing and improving technical and business-related transactional data.
