An IT Systems Analyst job in Southwest Houston, Texas is available courtesy of Modis. No C2C or sponsorships available. Our client is seeking a detail-oriented, motivated, and organized IT technician to join their IT services team. In this entry-level position, you will play a key role in providing support for all areas of IT. You will update systems, troubleshoot problems, and provide hands-on support for IT issues within the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school degree or equivalent; experience in computer science, information systems or related field preferred
  • CompTIA certification or other related IT professional certification is a plus but not required
  • Previous experience as a help desk technician, computer technician, or IT support is a plus but not required
  • Microsoft Windows Deployment Services a plus
  • Ability to troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve multiple issues
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfortable in a diverse and fast-paced environment
  • Self-sufficient and extremely motivated
  • Goal-oriented, organized team player
  • Experience working with network and server support teams
  • Up-to-date knowledge of new systems, information, software, and upgrades
  • Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift equipment
  • Ability to work on-call when required
  • Ability to work non-standard shift hours when required
  • Driven by challenge and motivated by learning new concepts and ideas

    • ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Assist IT team with updating PC operating systems using WSUS
  • Diagnose PC / printer/ phone / equipment / software issues and resolve as required
  • Maintain inventory of PC and peripheral hardware
  • Assist with the deployment and support of software
  • Manage phone system (Asterisk and Avaya) including new phone setup, phone configuration changes, and troubleshooting
  • Provide technical support for computer and software related issues
  • Provide technical support either by phone, remote access or site visits
  • Manage helpdesk tickets using our ServiceDesk ticketing system
  • Respond to IT issues with a sense of urgency and facilitate communications between IT and company employees to resolve issues
  • Modify configurations, utilities, software, etc.
  • Set up equipment for new users
  • Manage Active Directory user accounts and password resets
  • Manage proprietary software user accounts and passwords
  • Manage PC imaging using Windows Deployment Server
  • Monitor data center equipment and servers
  • Assist with Servers, LAN/WAN technologies, computer repair/troubleshooting software, networks, virus protection, Wi-Fi technology, and more
  • Other duties as assigned
