This newly created role on our IT team supports the organization's business operations and growth by providing digitized UI/UX solutions through an enhanced user experience to our members and employees. You'll be responsible for the user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design of our various digital assets and ensure that all elements of the online user experience are optimized for improved usability, usefulness, and exceptional visual design.
This position is expected to be hybrid. Due to the nature of our business in New York City, please note that UNFCU will require that you show current proof of COVID-19 vaccination upon acceptance of employment.
What you'll do
- Develop and conceptualize a comprehensive UX/UI design strategy for our digital assets for a consistent member experience.
- Investigate user experience designs for our digital assets based on industry standards in Human-Centric Design (Heuristic Evaluations) or related design thinking patterns.
- Produce high-quality UX design solutions through wireframes, visual and graphic designs, flow diagrams, storyboards, site maps, and prototypes.
- Test UI elements such as CTAs, page layouts, page designs and page flows, and ensure overall branding guidelines are adhered to for our digital assets.
- Collaborate with various business and technical teams to ensure the creation and successful delivery of tailored experiences for our members.
- Provide advice and guidance on the implementation of UX research methodologies and testing to ensure an optimal member experience.
- Write clear and concise content (including labels, instructions, messages, navigational elements, interface language, accessibility content, detailed UX guidelines around visual style and component behaviors) for our digital products that help users navigate the product.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations and UNFCU's Code of Ethics & Business Conduct.
- Associate's degree (preferably in Design) or equivalent training/experience in a related field
- Minimum of 5 years web design experience, including mobile responsiveness, and illustrate design ideas using storyboards, process flows and UI mockups
- Experienced at writing or editing content for web and mobile experiences, serving as an information architect, content strategist, or similar
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud (Adobe XD, Photoshop, Illustrator) as well as related HTML Prototyping technologies (HTML, CSS)
- Instinct for collaborating and problem-solving with a team
- Proven ability for finding clarity within complexity
- Ability to work independently with excellent time management skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and detail orientation
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with Bootstrap; JavaScript/jQuery
