Job Summary:
As a Lead BI Analyst on the Analytics Delivery team, you will work in a dynamic Data & Insights organization supporting analytics and reporting. Working closely with your business stakeholders, you will help to define, design, and deliver business critical analytics and operational reporting. Primary Responsibilities: • Design, Development, and Implementation of data models and reporting solutions that meet business reporting and analytical objectives for the enterprise • Be the BI expert by collaborating across the enterprise and developing relationships with other executives, stakeholders, and analytics teams to gain an understanding of the current and future data and analytics environment • Lead the adoption of new tools and processes as they are rolled out • Support the long-term analytics and reporting strategy by establishing best practices and templates for data preparation and data visualization • Manage process for code reviews including data and visualization reviews and team collaboration • Monitor and respond to enterprise reporting requests by applying healthcare expertise along with technical and analytic skills to develop and document data/business analytics requirements • Recommend ways to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality • Support advanced analytics including predictive/prescription modeling • Coach and develop other BI analysts
Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
- Collaborate with customers and other DI teams on data analysis needs, governance, and implementation a. Act as a liaison with the customer to communicate data structure or metric needs for appropriate data model build to counterparts in DI responsible for data warehouse and data model build or develop interim data solutions to meet the business need until the work can be completed. b. Responsible for the design, development, and implementation of data models and reporting solutions that meet business reporting and analytical objectives for the organization c. Identify and source where possible, data quality issues impacting analyses and bring issues to the attention of DI leadership and other appropriate individuals. d. Apply appropriate statistical and mathematical principles to all analyses. e. Have a working understanding of benchmarking and comparative analysis techniques and interpretation. f. Develop an excellent understanding of data transformed, managed, and reported specifically by the DI department (e.g., cost accounting, operational benchmarking, quality benchmarking, patient satisfaction, etc.) - Organizational expert technologically regarding data and analytics a. Maintain an outstanding understanding of a wide variety of technology tools used by Wellstar to present information (e.g., SQL, Advanced MS Excel, Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, and other tools). b. Recommend ways to improve data reliability, efficiency, quality, and visualization. c. Continually look to maintain, grow, and develop knowledge and skills in applicable tools. d. Lead the Analytics Delivery team in conforming to the data governance processes. Other Duties a. Understand process improvement techniques utilized at Wellstar and practice them with your own work processes. Act as a leader within the DI department on process improvement efforts to improve productivity and quality of output. b. Participate in departmental and cross-functional teams representing DI as needed. c. Work independently and multi-task effectively on multiple assignments as needed. d. Communicate effectively and appropriately with all levels of leadership and staff within the organization while representing the DI department. e. Other duties as assigned.
Required Minimum Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics or similar technical degree or BS/BA in another field with significant work experience in data engineering/programming or data analytics. Required

Required Minimum Experience:
Minimum 8 years working with and building complex data sets in a relational database environment with tools such as SQL Server, MS Visual Studio, MS Excel, Python, R, Alteryx, Azure, and other 3rd party data tools Required Experience creating highly effective data visualizations to meet business needs with demonstrated impacts to business results utilizing tools such as Tableau and Power BI Required Healthcare experience as well as familiarity with EPIC, Clarity or EPIC Caboodle Hands-on experience with data warehouse architectures, data modeling concepts, and ETL design
Required Minimum Skills:
Expert SQL skills including the ability to write efficient T-SQL queries and reports to troubleshoot and tune performance of existing reports using performance and analysis tools (i.e., Executions Plan, Profiler, Tuning Advisor) Ability to identify complex problems, involve key parties, gather pertinent data, and consider various options in the decision-making process. Skilled at applying problem solving skills in a logical, systematic way to resolve issues Advanced skills working with relational database structures and concepts. Advanced skills working with data visualization tools including Tableau and Power BI, a certification would be preferred. Familiarity with common statistically appropriate means of data and process analysis. Experience in data mining, data quality and data security. Ability to leverage critical thinking in all aspects of work product design and delivery. Advanced skills working with relational database structures and concepts.
