This position will be open until filled.

Job Summary: Responsible for patrolling and inspecting the assigned campus and providing safety and security to all students, staff, faculty, and visitors as necessary. This class also conducts investigations; enforces conduct regulations; and completes appropriate safety and security documents as required. This position is also responsible for providing day-to-day work guidance to lower level officers.

Minimum Qualifications:

H.S. Diploma or equivalent and 2 years experience, plus 2 years of supervisory experience or a combination of experience and education sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

Licensing Requirements: PA Act 235 Lethal Weapons with Firearm OCAT
Expandable Baton CPR & AED
First-Aid
PATH Handcuffing Valid Driver's License
Clean Criminal History Background (No Misdemeanor/Felony Convictions)

Hiring Range: $39,046- $48,808

Job Specific Task List:

  • Provides work guidance as needed to lower level Officers. - (Essential)
  • Bears and will use firearms in emergency circumstances requiring protection of college students, faculty, staff and visitors or for purposes of self defense. - (Essential)
  • Patrols college campus and inspects interior and exterior of buildings for obvious signs of damage, break-in, or unusual activity; monitors surveillance cameras and responds to reports of damage or malfunction from students, faculty, and visitors. - (Essential)
  • Responds to calls for escort, assistance, policy enforcement, medical help, or safety; collects information, assists with possible medical emergencies, and determines need for further action. - (Essential)
  • Enforces parking violations and provides traffic assistance and control. - (Essential)
  • Performs administrative support activities, such as relaying communications, researching information, creating statistical reports, writing and filing incident reports, and providing related support. - (Essential)
  • Conducts armed money escorts as requested to transport college assets. - (Essential)
  • Provides security for special events; enforces policies and regulations concerning traffic, crowds, and college equipment and grounds. - (Essential)
  • Conducts preliminary investigations of suspicious or criminal activity; gathers information and determines what steps need to be taken. - (Essential)
  • Conducts safety checks of building interiors, emergency doors, fire extinguishers, and emergency lighting. - (Essential)
  • In the absence of the Security Supervisor, may assume supervisory responsibilities. - (Essential)
  • Attends all required training sessions. - (Essential)
  • Performs other duties as assigned. - (Standard)
