Maintenance Technician

Salary: $28.00 USD Hourly - $33.00 USD Hourly
Description: Our client is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician for their facility near Greenville SC. This will be a Monday - Friday 7am to 3pm shift with overtime available. Average overtime is 4-5 hours a week. There would be one week a month on call after hours coverage per rotation. Manufacturing multi-craft machine maintenance is the target with a heavy focus on mechanical skills. but they would love someone who has some electrical experience as well dealing with low to high voltage and PLCs
They are looking for techs that understand how components act together to make a machine work, how to troubleshoot them when the machine stops working, and how to fix anything that comes their way whether mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, ect. This sometimes requires creatively and innovation, always with a focus on safety. If you dont have experience in manufacturing specifically but you have worked on troubleshooting and repairing chillers, HVAC, Boilers, Air compressors, etc. then they would still be interested in speaking with you.

Hourly rate will be between ~$25-30/hr

This job will have the following responsibilities:

• Follows all Company policies regarding safety, quality and attendance. Performs duties in a safe manner and report all observed safety hazards to management and takes a proactive role in correcting these conditions.
• Proactively troubleshoots, repairs, and corrects mechanical, electrical, and process problems to ensure capability of production equipment
• Assist in troubleshooting using PLC logic as a tool
• Assist in troubleshooting and repairing electrical breakdown of AC / DC drives and inverters to include programming and start up configuration/tuning
• Assist in designing electrical circuits on existing equipment for equipment / safety upgrades
• Assist in design / install of electromechanical upgrades to existing equipment to include DC to AC upgrades, PLC installation to replace discrete controls
• Operates meters, power supplies, service monitors and test fixtures and understands their use and function
• Maintain a working knowledge of all plant operating systems and readily access records of diagrams & schematics.
• Work with and help identify contractors to repair, install, remove and/or upgrade equipment
• Provides 24/7 technical support for production
• Regularly inspects production lines and support equipment and performs necessary repairs and upgrades during preventative maintenance cycles
• Operates hand tools and small power tools to include cutting of small parts
• Leads assembly, installation, disassembly, and demolition of production equipment and building support equipment as required for upgrades or new installations
• Maintains a neat and orderly work area; meets plant and department housekeeping standards. May be assigned additional housekeeping responsibilities throughout the plant as needed to maintain a clean and orderly work space.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• 2-5 years of Maintenance experience in a manufacturing plant or similar required
• Experience with the troubleshooting and repair of electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems
  
• Ability to organize and prioritize work activities and to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Must have solid electrical and mechanical skills.
• Must demonstrate the ability to follow written and verbal instructions with little or no supervision.
• Must be able to read and understand mechanical and electrical blueprints, drawings, and schematics
• Ability and willingness to work overtime as required. Rotate on-call schedule with maintenance staff.
