This position supports our healthcare professional liability line of business. Preference is for this position to be hybrid and based in Birmingham AL. We will also consider qualified candidates to be fully remote located elsewhere in the Continental US.

The Manager, Business Analysis position is designated to perform team leadership and direct management support of the BA team members. This role will function in a management capacity to ensure dedication to customer relationship management, and client satisfaction goals are achieved. The position also requires working in conjunction with other management members of the department to interpret, communicate, and implement company-wide policy and procedure appropriately.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage, develop and mentor the BA team including managing employee expectations and engagement
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with the HCPL offices; arrange for training and support on existing and new products and services.
  • Serve as the technical advisor to BA team
  • Practice Customer Relationship Management concepts to provide great experience for employees and clients
  • Manage the coordination of testing service requests to meet Sarbanes Oxley requirements and other internal controls.
  • Provide project management for projects associated with maintenance and improvement of HCPL operational systems and processes.
  • Perform special projects as directed by management
  • Some travel required


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum of 8 years prior Insurance or Financial industry experience is required
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in business process improvement required
  • Demonstrated leadership experience is required.Prior supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Experience with business analytics, project management, regulatory compliance, and system governance required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including ability to communicate effectively across all levels within the organization
  • Keen understanding of SDLC and process improvement protocols
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions with minimal supervision and direction
  • Ability to identify and assess patterns, trends, root causes, develop concise explanations andtest solutions
  • Solid technical knowledge and ability to express concepts in terms that are understandable to the business
  • Industry expertise with a thorough understanding of regulatory landscape highly preferred
  • Highly adept with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Certified Business Analysis ProfessionalTM (CBAP) designation or similar preferred (must be obtained within one year from employment start date)
  • Certified Associate in Project ManagementTM (CAPM) designation or similar preferred (must be obtained within one year from employment start date)
