Position Summary

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Centralize and manage legal entity registration and regulatory compliance with various authorities for fund teams
  • Centralize, manage and support all fund teams with multi-fund and multi-investor reporting and other requests, including investor conference reporting, fundraising requests, investor due diligence questionnaires and financial analysis
  • Centralize and manage side letter reporting compliance for all fund teams
  • Actively represent Partnership Accounting in cross-departmental projects, including software application projections and process improvements
  • Coordinate and manage the annual SOC-1 report and fund SOX compliance
  • Support quarterly and annual fund reporting, as needed, to ensure proper reflection and allocation of activity
  • Support various tax reporting and compliance as needed
  • Assist with management of third party administrators as needed
This position interacts with various levels of management and builds relationships with key stakeholders within Partnership Accounting and other parties, such as Fund Management, Corporate Accounting, External Audit, Internal Audit, Enterprise Process Operations Support (EPOS) and Global Technology Solutions (GTS). The Manager is the subject matter expert on various subjects, including regulatory compliance, project management, accounting systems, operational policies and various fund accounting matters. The Manager helps develop enhancements, and improvements to, related processes and systems. This position may also be responsible for the day-to-day operations and reporting for certain funds, as deemed necessary.

Key Duties/Responsibilities

Regulatory registration and compliance:
  • Ensure regulatory compliance reporting and deliverables are submitted accurately and timely with various regulatory authorities and depositaries for all funds.
  • This includes managing all aspects of the reporting (monthly, quarterly, annual, ad-hoc, etc.) and processes, which includes, but is not limited to, being the point of contact for all related correspondence and maintenance with internal and external parties for CIMA, AIFM and Mauritius regulatory reporting.
Centralize and manage multi-fund and multi-investor requests
  • Ensure stakeholder requests are met accurately and timely.
  • Manage the process for all fund teams
Support and review the periodic LP fund reporting:
  • Review all annual and quarterly financial statements prepared in accordance with U.S. GAAP and other key reports (including investor capital account statements).
  • Liaise with external tax service providers regarding investment transactions to support the completion of the fund's tax returns and other tax documents.
  • Act as lead on investment transaction testing with external auditors and draft relevant disclosures in support of the annual audit of the fund's financial statements.
Supervise various business operations for assigned fund groups ensuring compliance with policies and procedures:
  • Ensure compliance of business activities (calls, distributions, carry calculations) with partnership agreements.
  • Ensure accurate accounting and allocation of fund activity and activities that impact firm books.
  • Determine the applicable treatment of distribution proceeds received by the Fund and review the distribution waterfall calculations. Additionally, preparing projected waterfall / carry amounts for the equity group in determining carry projections or clawback analysis.
  • Monitor legal compliance with various Fund agreements and arrangements.
Various tasks and initiatives:
  • Set goals and provide performance feedback to stakeholders on a regular basis.
  • Seek efficiencies in system applications and business processes.
  • Participate in initiatives that help the department and firm meet strategies and goals.


Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant public accounting or private accounting experience, required.
  • Excellent project management, planning and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build successful relationships and to work effectively as part of a team
  • Ability to manage others and lead tasks independently
Education and Certifications
  • Bachelor's Degree, required
  • Accounting or Finance major, or relevant experience in financial services and/or fund administration combined with a major in another field, required
  • CPA strongly preferred
Position-Specific Technical Requirements
  • Review experience with, and working knowledge of, U.S. GAAP financial reporting and tax issues related to partnership accounting
  • Experience with the alternative investment industry and its reporting compliance with AIFMD and CIMA
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel functionality and formulas
  • Proficient knowledge and demonstrated use of data cubes using Microsoft Excel and on-line analytical processing (OLAP)
  • Experience with accounting software applications, such as OneStream and Workiva a plus
  • Ability to think critically and analyse financial data
  • Ability to adapt using multiple software applications
  • Strong interpersonal and team building skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Excellent communication skills - both written and oral
