POSITION SUMMARY:
The Manager Ground Ops Training is responsible for providing training and oversight of the policies and procedures related to the Company's Ground Operations. This position is expected to enhance compliance, safety, operational, and financial performance of the operation by attaining higher levels of productivity, efficiency, and customer experience.
Job Responsibilitiesinclude the following, but not limited to:
- Meet with internal business stakeholders to assess training requirements and create training solutions that meet operational needs and support a global network.
- Develop and deliver training related to airport and ground operations in various formats such as instructor and virtual instructor led training, e-learning, self-directed training, and on-the-job training, both in English and Spanish.
- Continue the development of current training programs including but not limited to:
- SmartKargo Initial and Recurrent Training
- New Hire Training
- Forklift Training
- DG Awareness (if needed)
- Create a "Train the Trainer" program to train and support managers in Miami and other domestic and international stations.
- Ensure training effectiveness and consistency throughout the different departments within ground operations and across all locations.
- Work closely with all operational departments to ensure adequate and timely training is provided to employees.
- Collaborate with the Safety and Compliance team to develop and implement training that keeps us compliant with all requirements established by the DOT, OSHA, FAA, TSA, US Customs and other regulatory agencies.
- Develop and continuously update SOPs and User Guides for SmartKargo.
- Maintain the Global Ops Training SharePoint up to date and upload all training materials for easy reference and accessibility.
- Record and maintain training records in accordance with company policy as well as regulatory requirements.
- Regularly review existing processes with operations managers. Identify any bottlenecks, inefficiencies, or areas that could benefit from improvement through training.
- Maintain regular and effective communication and strong working relationships with other subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure training relevance.
- Work closely with the Transformation team to support SmartKargo Development and enhancements while ensuring that updates are aligned with the needs of operations.
- Support with UAT testing.
- Provide training to all operations managers to identify and report SmartKargo issues on the issue tracker
- Actively monitor and promote best practices across the operation.
- Conduct training for vendors as needed.
- Other duties/responsibilities as assigned
Required Qualifications and Skills, Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent industry experience in airline ground handling operations and training.
- Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning processes, instructional design techniques, and evaluation methodologies.
- Ability to create and deliver dynamic presentations, slide decks, and training materials.
- Fluent in English and Spanish.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging, and changing environment with a matrixed structure.

Supervisory Responsibilities:This position will not have direct reports, however, will be required to train and support a team to achieve departmental goals.
Language Skills:The employee must possess strong interpersonal and communications skills, be able to effectively present information, respond to questions, and proficiently write reports and business correspondence.
Physical Activities and Requirements of the Position:Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in an office environment, and some of the time in a warehouse environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Exerts up to 30 lbs. of force occasionally for office supplies and equipment.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms; move about the facility. Some light physical effort required.
Travel:Domestic and International travel might be required up to 20% of the time to support job responsibilities.
