About this opportunity:
The Project Controls Manager works across the Turnaround, Major Maintenance and Construction portfolios. The role is responsible for defining, managing, and mitigating cost and schedule risks on projects. The Project Controls Manager provides a holistic view of the progress of projects and turnaround operations to ensure that teams are safely working within the confines of set deadlines and budget limitations.

Responsibilities:
  • Works closely with Project and Turnaround Managers to define project parameters including safety, budget, and timelines
  • Lead and manage the ongoing monitoring of individual projects to track projects against its own parameters (resources, timelines, budgets)
  • Create and implement regular status updates on project parameters as required by Turnaround and Major Maintenance and Construction managers for meetings with the Maintenance and Construction Director
  • Liaises with the Finance department during turnaround to maintain visibility into the current state of project control parameters specific to Turnaround operations
  • Oversees responses to ad hoc requests for information project controls inquiries across the Maintenance and Construction function
Qualifications :
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the united states
  • 10 - 15 years' experience working within project/cost controls
  • Minimum 5 years of refinery project experience
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience
  • 10 years of experience in petrochemical environment
  • Bachelor or Master of Science in Engineering and/or Business Administration
  • Project Management Professional Certification would be considered an asset
  • Planning and scheduling experience
  • Understanding of project management processes
  • Familiar with contracts of services and materials
  • Cost estimating experience
  • Knowledge of standards and technical specifications
  • Minimum of five years of experience in Project Management including project planning, scheduling, cost estimating and managing contracts for engineering firms and contractors.
  • Strong leadership orientation that includes coaching, development of staff, and guidance of individuals toward goal achievement.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
  • Superior analytical skills to identify key issues based on relevant data and provide appropriate solutions/recommendations.
  • Ability to work in a team environment dealing with people from various disciplines to achieve total turnaround success.
