Position summary:

The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for providing support to the Manufacturing organization to facilitate efficient operations within the production area, optimize existing processes, and ensure that production goals are met.
Responsibilities

Manufacturing Engineer Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conducts a continuous search for new materials, processes, and procedures to enhance and improve products and processes. Keeps knowledgeable of new manufacturing techniques for potential application and recommends incorporation into our processes where feasible.
  • Supports the Manufacturing department in development of processes and tooling. Provide problem solving support to maintain a continuous flow of quality products to our customer.
  • Develops and/or designs processes, procedures tools and/or machines used to produce products. Work with Quality Engineering to develop capable and certified processes.
  • Provides project management support for plant layout and changes to the manufacturing facility.
  • Supports and leads actions for implementing cost reduction projects and assures appropriate level of documentation detail including sound justifications for capital improvements.
  • Coordinates and manages all phases of projects from beginning to end, insuring compliance to customer, industry and standards.
  • Provides quotations for pricing of products using most economical manufacturing methods.
  • Creates and maintains accurate information within the Profitkey manufacturing system relative to engineering responsibilities as required.
Qualifications

Manufacturing Engineer Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or other Engineering Science
  • 3 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing setting; including state of the art manufacturing technology/concepts and cost reductions
  • Basic understanding of 3D CAD software (i.e. ProE, Unigraphics, Solidworks, etc.)
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • High level of energy, personal accountability, and integrity
  • Detail oriented; checks own work, keeps accurate records, organizes information effectively
  • Microsoft Office proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher)
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Knowledge of ISO 9000, statistical process control, machining practices, properties of materials, and the application of mathematics and dimensions to production machinery and tooling, modern fabrication and assembly techniques, and machine shop practices a plus.
  • Must be able to identify root cause and develop appropriate corrective actions.
  • Efficiently integrate existing methods with new innovations, and communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Experience with Pro-Engineering, Solidworks, or Auto CAD software.
