General Summary

This paid internship is located in a Granite office either in Vernon Hills, IL, Des Plaines, IL, or Watsonville, CA, working with the corporate Marketing and Communications (MarCom) team. The MarCom team is responsible for all internal and external communications and marketing activities, that includes social media, website, intranet, and other digital channels. The internship will be hybrid or full time in office-whichever works best for the candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Develop engaging content for social media, internal communications, and website using photography, videography, and text.
  • Participate in marketing meetings and brainstorming sessions.
  • Social media listening and monitoring, familiarity with Hootsuite is a plus.
  • Upload images and add accompanying metadata into the Digital Asset Management (DAM) systems.
  • Assist with email communication design, intranet posts, and mobile app updates.
  • Take safety training, apply safe work practices, and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Willing to travel locally to active construction job sites in a personal vehicle.

Desired Skills
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Lightroom, Photoshop, Premiere, etc.) and Canva.
  • Familiarity or experience working with Microsoft 365 Suite (Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, etc.) and Windows devices.
  • Proficiency in multi-media formats (video, digital platforms, and print) and digital marketing channels (social media, email marketing, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail is critical- must enjoy working collaboratively and accurately, both independently and part of a team.
  • Ability to set priorities, organize work, and work in high production environment while responding quickly and effectively under pressure, changing priorities, and tight timelines/deadlines.
  • Professional demeanor and ability to work well in corporate and field environments.
  • Internally motivated to seek out answers, generate ideas, and develop new skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and passion for people, communications, marketing, and community engagement.

Qualifications
  • You are a rising senior currently majoring in communications, journalism, or marketing (or a related field) at an accredited 4-year college or university-or a recent graduate in the same.
  • You are available to work 40 hours per week for 8-10 weeks.

Base Hourly Wage Range:
Hourly: $20.00 $23.00
Pay may vary based upon relevant experience, skills, location, and education among other factors.
