Master Planner

The primary function of this position is to implement and maintain an effective work-in-process production planning schedule and inventory control system to assure availability of machine time, materials, and purchased parts for the uninterrupted flow of production to meet customer order dates. Reviews and maintains forecast/backlog requirements to assure minimum inventory. Responsible for specific platforms, or product lines from supplier to customer. Maintains lean manufacturing processes for product lines and drives continuous improvement through lean initiatives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS DUTIES/RESPONSIBLITIES

• Manage demand and production scheduling for several production lines with multiple customers/products.
• Works closely with Operations and Materials Planning team members to determine daily production requirements.
• Reviews and formalizes SIOP planning data.
• Use parameters to drive inventory levels within PFEP requirements.
• Continuous improvement team involvement.
• Participates in projects that influence the direction of manufacturing that impacts customer satisfaction.
• Works with NPD team for new product / program launch.
• Perform other related duties as directed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Broad based Supply Chain management and process development knowledge.
• Planning and Scheduling, Demand Management, Inventory Management, MRP systems experience and working knowledge of Operations, Accounting, Purchasing and other related production functions.
• Ability to make quick decisions in a dynamic, fast paced environment.
• Ability to prioritize competing demands.
• Strong time management skills and customer focus.
• Advanced analytical problem-solving skills to determine root cause of issues.
• Must show strong interpersonal and leadership skills, PC software skills and formal MRP system processes.
• Multitask, self-motivated, and work with little to no supervision.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Prior experience working with the same or similar product lines.
• APICS Certification Preferred.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's Degree in related field required.
• At least five years of related experience required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Follow oral and written instructions and work orders.
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer.
• Ability to lift and/or move 50 pounds.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

• No overnight travel required.
