Basic Job Functions:

A Mechanical Maintenance Technician will have a working knowledge of basic mechanical principles and possess practical experience as it relates to the mechanical maintenance function. Basic functions will include, but are not be limited to, PM tasks such as lubricating,inspection of machinery,trouble shooting as well as repair of the following: hydraulic and pneumatic systems, power transfer mechanisms such as couplings, gear boxes, belts and sheaves, basic metal fabricaionincluding cutting, grinding and welding. This position will also be involved with oall aspecst of project management. This position requires a flexible schedule, including scheduled and unscheduled overtime, rotating shifts and weekends.Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead and uphold safety practices, policies, procedures and housekeeping standards to make safety a priority at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 2 year vocational or technical degree or equivalent training /experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Office programs.

• Maintenance Systems and Techniques - Knowledge of servicing, repairing, adjusting, and testing machines, devices, moving parts, and equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior Industrial Mechanical Experience.
• Advanced knowledge in an area of mechanical systems such as hydraulics, pneumatics, power transfer, mechanical design, or specification of equipment.
• Experience with project management.
• Understanding of basic electrical principles.
