This is a role well suited for a highly motivated student looking to build their skill set and gain hands-on experience. As Mechatronics (Control & Automation) Intern , you will be responsible for :

  • Develop robust sensing and control algorithms for motion control and Automation systems.
  • Investigate and develop novel path-planning and trajectory-generation schemes.
  • Develop visual-servo / alignment solutions for robotic handling systems
  • Communicating technical issues and document work in the form of technical reports

This position may suit you best if you are familiar with what is below, and would like to develop your skills with Healthineers:
  • Strong background in Control systems, Dynamics, Signal processing, and Mathematical modeling and simulations;
  • Proficiency with Matlab / Simlink

Required skills and education to have for the success of this role:

  • Currently enrolled in a Master's degree program, majoring in Mechanical Engineering
  • Good understanding of control system design, sensor fusion methods, signal processing and analysis is required.
  • Basic understanding of Data analysis, Image analysis/ processing concepts is desirable
  • Knowledge of Advanced Control methods including Disturbance Observer-based methods, and Adaptive Robust Control with applications to Robotic systems is preferred
  • Intermediate-to-high level experience with Matlab/Simulink required
  • Knowledge of Machine Learning and Machine Vision would be strongly desirable.
  • Previous engineering internship and/or co-op experience would be desirable
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA (preferred)

Start Date: July 2024

The pay range for this position is $35.70 - $42.00 hourly; however, base pay offered may vary depending on education, skills, and experience. Siemens Healthineers offers interns paid time off.
