As a Test Engineer, you will assists the mechatronics program development for assigned product groups. Executes test programs and analyzes test results. Communicates results and makes design recommendations to appropriate internal or external customers to include design, electrical, and test engineering teams and management personnel.

What Will You Do?

In order to grow and build a successful career with The Toro Company, you will be responsible for:

  • Aid in the performance evaluation of prototype & production equipment using field tests & lab environments with simulated field conditions.
  • Conduct lab & field testing of mechatronics based products &/or components.
  • Assist in the review of product designs for potential areas of weakness. Work closely with design engineering to improve product durability.
  • Assist in concept evaluations and engineering feasibility evaluations.
  • Report test results on a timely basis.
  • Support Company Quality Policy by working within the documented Quality System. Participates in quality initiatives & training as needed.
  • May give work direction to test technicians or drafters.
  • Travel to test sites, vendors, manufacturing facilities, customers, and other locations as required.
  • Other duties assigned by supervisor.

What Do You Need?

To be considered for this role, an individual should meet the following minimal requirements:
  • Professional Engineering license, or Bachelors or Masters Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Engineering from a university with an ABET accredited Undergraduate engineering program. Additional education in Software or Mechatronics Engineering is desirable.
  • Completion of EIT requirements is desirable.
  • Entry level related experience including educational projects, research assignments and Co-op or Intern assignments.
  • Desirable Skills: C/C++/C#, Python, Javascript, HTML, CREO, MATLAB, SIMULINK, Labview RT, FPGA, TestStand, and VeriStand products or equivalent test systems.
  • CANbus analysis or other machine communication protocols using Vector CANalyzer or similar test systems.
  • Validation of embedded control systems and the software development V-model.
  • Evaluation of systems for compliance to functional safety standards.
  • Evaluation of systems for EMC/EMI compliance.
  • Hands-on mechanical aptitude
