Medical Research SpecialistTNPRC - Microbiology

Summary

The Medical Research Specialist for this exciting systems biology research laboratory would perform multitude of diagnostic and quantitative assays and primarily focused on understanding how viruses cause disease and resulting immune responses control viral infections in Biosafety Level 2 laboratories (BSL2 and BSL2-enhanced), in adherence with the Standard Operating Protocols (SOPs) in place. This position will work independently with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal, communication, and decision-making skills; as well as the ability to work well independently and as part of a team.

Required Qualifications

*Bachelor's Degree in a biological or computational science*2+ years research experience in microbiology/immunology, molecular biology and/or related disciplines

Preferred Qualifications

*Experience with BSL2 bio-containment principles and protocols, both for animal and laboratory space.*Ability to multi-task and successfully meet established deadlines.*Strong analytical skills, preferably with experience in JMP, R, or Python for data analysis.*Familiarity with reference management tools (e.g. Zotero, EndNote).
