ResponsibilitiesMaster's degree or higher in Psychology, Counseling, Education, Social Work, or related field.

Other InformationThe ideal candidate for the role:
The successful candidate will be a self-starter who thrives amidst an ever-changing and unpredictable work environment and will have demonstrated skills in the areas of mental health, personal counseling, student support, and holistic wellness. The primary focus of the Mental Health Specialist will be to manage immediate student crisis situations, serve as a mental health advisor for FSUPC, and refer students to local care resources as needed. The candidate should have experience in recovery, assessment and treatment of addictive behaviors and be able to provide targeted outreach efforts and psychoeducational programming to the general student population along with targeted populations at FSUPC.
Typical day/working environment:
The Mental Health Specialist provides daily direct care services to the FSUPC community. Proves appropriate assistance and renders service in accordance with FSU Policies and procedures in a culturally competent and person-centered manner. Actively participates in crisis interventions when they arise.
60-90 day expectation:
To assess the current case load and become familiar with those students.
