Responsibilities

This is a hybrid role with the primary work location at Reading Hospital in West Reading, PA.

The Network Engineer II is responsible for project leadership and a technical capacity for the operation, security and maintenance of the enterprise LAN/WAN/MAN/WLAN network including day-to-day and long-term analysis and support for routers, switches, wireless, firewalls, VPN concentrators, intrusion detection systems, proxy servers and other network equipment. Works closely with others within Network Infrastructure and will provide technical support to various departments and users regarding the network and/or security infrastructure.

The Network Engineer has an understanding of IT operations within an organization both from an IT and non-IT perspective. Serves as a liaison with vendors and other third-party providers. Possesses excellent written and verbal skills. Maintains awareness of new/alternate technologies and presents those of potential value to management for consideration.

Qualifications

Education Requirements

• High School Diploma - OR - GED - OR - highest completed education

• Cisco experience as a network engineer in enterprise network environment
• Experience in Core network configuration (switches, routers, firewall configuration)
• Experience in configuring and managing firewalls and security access lists
• Involvement in network design / engineering projects
• Experience in using monitoring tools
