Nursing - Inpatient Administration
This is an open posting for all shifts and full/part-time positions on the 6th Floor of Roswell Park.
Our 18 bed medical units specialize in the care of the medical oncology population along with those having hematological malignancies. RNs will treat a variety of solid tumors as well as those that have issues and aliments that arise as a result of the treatment for their cancer. RNs will be responsible for administering chemo/biotherapies and observe those receiving radiopharmaceuticals. Nurses work in a multidisciplinary team that includes providers, care managers, nutritionists, case managers, social workers and therapists (PT/OT/Respiratory). The units concentrate on providing education and emotional support to the patient and caregivers for a safe discharge and after care at home.
Required Education and Experience
License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York.
Education and Experience
1. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time oncology nursing experience; or
2. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time critical care experience; or
3. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and the equivalent of three (3) years of full-time medical-surgical experience in an acute care setting
1. Incumbents will serve a one (1) year full-time probationary period as a Nurse II.
2. Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
