Description

Under general supervision, this position requests and verifies service information of members; requests, researches, and reviews members' records; prepares correspondence; uses word processing and spreadsheet software; performs data entry and verification; and performs related work as assigned.

Examples of Work
1. Request and verify service information of members using good communication skills (written and oral). Ensure this information is accurate and complete before giving to the Benefits area to calculate the members' benefits.
2. Request, research, and review members' records using a personal computer and school reporting images.
3. Add or change member information on our NPRIS system, such as demographics, enrollment, and beneficiary information.
4. Work with members and employers through oral or written communication to obtain missing information or correct errors on members' documents or their files.
5. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications / Requirements
REQUIREMENTS: Coursework/training in administrative/office support functions, procedures, and methods, including the operation of personal computers and office equipment; research; or areas related to the programs and functions of the employing agency. OR Experience in performing administrative/office/secretarial support work including use of personal computers and office equipment.

PREFERRED: Preference may be given to candidates who demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products and have established a history of excellent attendance.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Knowledge of office procedures.
• Knowledge of grammar and spelling.
• Possess good reasoning skills.
• Knowledge and/or experience with Microsoft Office Suite products.
• Ability to use 10-key calculator.
• Ability to communicate in person and by telephone, computer, email, or correspondence to exchange information and ideas
• Ability to summarize technical data and results of research.
• Ability to have regular attendance.
• Ability to become knowledgeable of the various Nebraska Public Employees Retirement Plans, and past, present, and pending legislation and agency policies.
• Ability to pay attention to detail.
• Ability to work well with others.
