We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven Senior Project Manager to join our team of offshore wind professionals.

The Offshore Wind Senior Project Manager is responsible for seeking and securing project development and owner's engineering contracts to support Customer involved in offshore wind project development. DNV is specifically seeking an enthusiastic candidate with a strong background in the offshore wind industry, who can develop and maintain strong customer relationships, develop and deliver on new business opportunities, enjoys strategic planning and execution, and can manage delivery of a wide range of technical, environmental, and strategic planning services. This position will be Customer-facing, with significant opportunities to leverage great communication stills and the opportunity for leadership and autonomy in the day-to-day business development and management of projects.

This position can be based out of any of our current advisory markets including Medford, Massachusetts; Arlington, Virginia; Chalfont, Pennsylvania; New York; San Diego, California; Portland, Oregon; & Seattle, Washington

What you'll do:

Our team focuses on a variety of strategic market engagements to support our customers. These include quick turn-around site and market assessments relative to decision-making support and feasibility, as well as long-term, multi-phase project and developer advisory services. In this capacity we support established offshore wind developers, newcomers to the market, industry stakeholders and agencies, as well as financial and equity investors.

If you have experience in any combination of the services below, we want to speak with you!

  • Project management for a variety of technical due diligence engagements, including for projects obtaining financing or for M&A transactions or evaluating partnerships
  • Development or review of CAPEX, OPEX, and other financial instruments in support of offshore wind project development
  • Offshore wind engineering, supply, and construction contract negotiation, procurement or review
  • Development of offshore wind construction schedules
  • Vessel and port logistics planning
  • The management of offshore wind construction contracts, including interfaces between EPCs, transportation and installation vessels, and other onshore and offshore BoP suppliers
  • O&M and decommissioning planning for offshore wind projects
  • Leading and supporting Customers with State Offshore Wind Solicitation bid submittal preparation for PPA/OREC procurement processes
  • Feasibility and project qualification activities, including pre-feasibility and lease auction preparation for new market entrants;
  • Business development for one or multiple of the services listed above, including the opportunity to establish and strengthen relationships with Customers, bringing in and evaluating new contract leads, authoring proposals, and considering where DNV's services should change to meet the needs of the growing offshore wind market in North America
Position Qualifications

What is required:
  • Bachelor's degree required and a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in the offshore infrastructure industry, or 3 years of experience in the offshore wind industry
  • Candidates must have a strong understanding of offshore wind technology components, development lifecycle, procurement processes and project costs, and relevant stakeholders and industry decision makers
  • We are looking for a self-starter, able to generate and contract new business, manage projects entirely independently, train and develop junior staff, manage sensitive and confidential customer information, and with the ability to understand when to delegate and escalate tasks and issues as they arise. Excellent organization skills and attention to detail are a must
  • Excellent project management, technical writing, and oral communication skills. The ability to comfortably explain complicated analysis methodologies or results, scopes of work, budget or contracting terms, and other relevant offshore wind technical topics to a wide range of audiences is essential
  • We conduct pre-employment drug and background screening
What is Preferred:
  • Candidate must have a well-developed network of contacts within the North American offshore wind energy industry
  • Project Management certification (PMP, Six Sigma, Agile, etc.)
  • Willing to travel up to 20% of the time in the U.S. and Canada

As required by the Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Act and New York City Salary Transparency Law, DNV provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in Colorado or New York City. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. For the state of Colorado and New York City, NY only, the range of starting pay for this role is $120,000 - $170,000.
