Operational Excellence Manager

Location: Buffalo and surrounding areas

Schedule: Days, possible weekends or on call when needed
Compensation: 80-85K

What We Are Looking For

The Operational Excellence Manager serves as a leadership partner to implement/sustain NOCO operations. Leads projects to review business processes by applying advanced continuous improvement principles and practices to improve quality, efficiency, financials, operations, and related areas. Responsibilities may include participating with management to prioritize project initiation, developing project objectives, facilitating teams, leading the implementation of project results and tracking project results.

This position should demonstrate a sound knowledge of business processes and have extensive experience in a similar role. An accomplished Operational Excellence Manager will be someone whose expertise translates into the realization of our business's long-term objectives.

What You Will Do

  • Serve as both a tactical and strategic partner with the leadership team and process owners to implement and ensure standard processes are in place.
  • Monitor and supports key metrics and KPIs for overall performance and process effectiveness.
  • Serves as a strategic partner with the division continuous improvement leader to maintain alignment and compliance with the NOCO continuous improvement strategy.
  • Lead a portfolio of projects and team(s) in the review and analysis of business processes to ensure efficient and effective operations.
  • Lead meetings to review and examine project completion, obstacles, problem resolution, timelines, recommendations, and conclusions. Issues summary reports on a regular basis.
  • Perform analyses that involve the application of advanced continuous improvement principles and practices, such as reviewing the flow of products or information, analyzing quantitative and qualitative data, preparing findings, and developing recommendations and conclusions.
  • Partner with process owners to implement new processes or guidelines, determine improvements, identify and track savings, develop reports, and receive approval when required.
  • Assists with training and coaching others to build organizational self-sufficiency with continuous improvement methods and tools.
  • Revise and update business plans, procedures, and policies.

What You Will Need
  • High School Diploma or GED required, Advanced Degree preferred
  • Minimum two years of relevant work experience
  • Analytical, trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills to assess needs, understanding issues, and identify improvement opportunities
  • Able to become the Continuous Improvement go-to person and build a culture of continuous improvement
  • Able to design, develop, and deploy improvement strategies that support NOCO strategic objectives
  • The ability to effectively collaborate and drive results across a complex large organization
  • Strong project management expertise, from ideation to execution and follow-up
  • Strong team-building skills with the ability to hire, develop, and motivate people to accomplish their best work
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks demanding immediate attention and to juggle multiple, ongoing, concurrent responsibilities
  • Strong communication skills and comfort with facilitating large groups at all levels of the organization
  • Requires a highly motivated self-starter, with strong written and verbal communication skills with a demonstrated collaborative style that promotes and champions change
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Proficient in project management skills. MS Project or SmartSheets a plus.
