Your Role:

At MilliporeSigma, the Operations Coordinator will coordinate outbound logistical operations, will release customer deliveries, perform inventory adjustments, create and finalize shipments, contact carriers and prepare transportation documentation. The Operations Coordinator will work with customer service, the Department Supervisor and warehouse employees to expedite customer orders and solve problems.

  • Plan, schedule, and route inbound and outbound domestic and international shipments of freight, using knowledge of postal regulations, tariffs, and company policy.
  • Coordinate with carriers, audit freight bills, prepare and negotiate claims, and select or recommend carriers to ensure efficient, timely and least expensive movement of goods and material.
  • Conduct research on transportation methods, rates and routes.
  • Develop program to audit and monitor carrier rates and charges and evaluate past performance and cost of transportation.
  • Perform Inventory management.
  • Assure product delivery in accordance with customer requirements given manufacturing capabilities.
  • Input information into sales orders and related customer information into applicable systems along with investigate problems related to shipment of products, credits, new orders and other customer-related matters.
  • Review exceptions with supervisor prior to action.
  • Provide first-line support to operators in the absence of the DC Supervisor.
  • Identify and implement efficient measures within the Traffic function and work with other Distribution Centers within the network to harmonize processes.
  • Work with Customer Service and other support functions to ensure all required shipping documentation is obtained prior to shipment.
  • Perform data analysis into complaints logged and those that physically arrive to the Distribution Center to maintain KPI goals.
  • Provide support to inventory transactions such as cycle count creation, inventory discrepancies and research.
  • Work under limited supervision without instruction on routine tasks and with general instructions on new types of work or special projects.
  • Travel 10% domestic and internationally with ability to travel on short notice

Who You Are:

Minimum Requirements:
  • High School diploma or GED
  • 2+ years' experience in Logistics, Distribution or transportation

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in a regulated global manufacturing environment, preferably in the medical device or a technology focused industry
  • Experience in Lean Six Sigma
  • Strong PC knowledge, with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent communications skills both written and verbal
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work as a team member
  • SAP Knowledge
  • Experience with shipping dangerous goods (DOT, IATA)
