Job Summary:

Operates packaging lines and helps resolve issues on the line, including troubleshooting and partnering with

Maintenance teams to facilitate repairs for quick resolution. The person in this role will make minor repairs on the

lines as needed.

Production Operator Duties:

  • Runs packaging lines and prepares for start-up, including checking production schedules and making sure coffee is available.
  • Ensures proper materials are on hand and ready for production; complete necessary paperwork.
  • Coordinates changeover activities to help ensure all aspects of the process occurs quickly and efficiently with as little downtime as possible
  • Communicates activities (and changeovers) and any changes made on the line to coworkers and other necessary departments.
  • Ensures all specifications are being followed.
  • Ensures quality documentation and other paperwork is filled out correctly and completely
  • Tracks downtime.
  • Prepares for next shift by ensuing all necessary information is shared, such as changes or issues which must be communicated effectively.
  • Attends and participates in daily production meetings, weekly team meetings, and any other plant meetings as needed
  • Meets with coworkers to discuss production issues and workflow
Maintenance Assistance Duties:
  • Performs emergency repairs on lines as needed.
  • Collaborates with Maintenance teams to communicate issues and helps resolve mechanical issues as directed
  • Provides technical input for repairs; suggests preventative maintenance and helps implement on the lines as needed.
  • Identifies materials required for repairs; performs minor repairs on equipment; measures and fills out order forms as required.
  • Troubleshoots breakdowns and performs repairs and/or assists with Maintenance jobs.
  • Conducts performance testing and preventive maintenance on machinery per PM schedule.
  • Assists line operators with preventative maintenance tactics and trains line operators in best practices to off-set potential issues.
  • Performs related work as assigned or required.
General Duties:
  • Abides by all OSHA regulations and ensures work areas are safe and free of safety violations; immediately reports safety concerns and hazards or unsafe acts to supervisor or manager.
  • Continuously monitors quality of output and check finished product for defects.
  • Continuously monitors equipment to detect issues; clearly communicate issues/concerns to maintenance and your supervisor.
  • Participates in continuous improvement program (i.e., active participation in root cause problem-solving, open communication, generates ideas, 5s, and follow standardized work procedures)
  • Demonstrates dependability and promote teamwork.
  • Adheres to all manufacturing practices and abide by all safety and sanitation regulations.
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • High School diploma or GED required; some college preferred but not required
  • 3-5 years of manufacturing experience strongly preferred, or functional experience in an industrial environment
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and make independent judgments
  • Ability and willingness to work in a team environment and interact effectively as a team contributor supporting company initiatives
