The Center for Language Technology (CeLT) strives to create a cutting edge language educational environment in fostering faculty collaboration, improving research, and instructional capabilities with innovative tools and pedagogy.

Experience gained in this position that will complement a student's academic program or professional career goals:

  • Customer service Video and audio recording and editing
  • Producing publicity materials using Microsoft Office and the Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Using social media (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.) for publicity
  • Basic technical support for audio, video, and computer equipment

Job Summary

  • Staffs the Equipment Room, received and replies to requests for equipment, checks equipment in and out
  • Provides basic technical support for users of the CeLT distance learning spaces
  • As needed, cleans and sanitizes the spaces managed by CeLT
  • Responsible for basic editing of video and other media using Adobe Creative Cloud and other relevant tools
  • Creates publicity materials (social media posts, etc.) for Center events
  • As needed, helps with the recording of CeLT and CLE-supported events on campus
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

EDUCATION

Required
  • Currently enrolled as a student at Indiana University
  • Completed at least a semester of study of a world language class at IU or another college or university
  • Eligible for work-study
Preferred
  • Priority given to those who are majoring in a language program
SKILLS

Required

• Excellent customer service skills
• Proficient in technology (audio, video, and computers; some training will be provided)
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work as a team player
• Willingness to learn Reliability (punctuality a must)
• Ability to see a task through to completion
