RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce client located in Cincinnati, OH is seeking an experienced Payroll Tax Accountant to join their growing team.Day to day responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Reconcile employee income tax withholding
  • Identify potential tax set up errors when employee work state and resident state are not the same
  • Maintain unemployment rates in system
  • Reconcile unemployment rates with payroll tax vendor
  • Create and run periodic payroll tax audits to ensure accurate tax reporting
  • Reconcile quarterly taxes between HRIS system and payroll tax vendor
  • Reconcile annual taxes between HRIS system and payroll tax vendor to audit W-2 files
  • Report Multiple State Labor Statistics
  • Audit Employee pay records to ensure HRIS system and Payroll System match
  • Documents payroll processes and procedures
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and/or annual closing procedures as they relate to payroll
  • Work with internal groups to maintain adherence to accounting guidelines as they relate to payroll
  • Serve as a backup for payroll department staff
  • Assist Payroll Specialist and Talent on Tax related payroll questions
  • Maintain CIC+ website and SFTP site of documents
  • Audit Tax reports within Workday for accuracy
  • Audit Local taxes against Talent address (work and live in)
  • Assist with Balancing Taxes between ADP and Workday


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Payroll Tax understanding of Locals; Live In and Work in State Requirements
  • Understand state income tax requirements for resident and non-resident employment
  • Knowledge of Requirements for Local Taxes
  • Ability to research state regulations to ensure compliance
  • Ability and knowledge to fill out Federal State and Local tax forms for new ID numbers
  • Ability and knowledge to contact States about potential employee transfers between FEIN
  • Self-motivated and can work independently as well as with a team remotely


The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
