POSITION SUMMARY

Graymont is currently seeking a Process Engineer / Quality Supervisor to join the Genoa team. The position will produce measurable results in Safety, Process, and Quality performance through the effective monitoring and analysis of process and quality data.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure that the highest standards are achieved in the areas of safety, environmental compliance and process efficiency and reliability.
  • Identify, develop, and continuously improve and communicate the best available process practices developed within Graymont.
  • Participate in the development of project concepts, flow sheets, equipment specifications and layouts that incorporate Graymont and industry best practices.
  • Keep abreast of the latest technological development in related industry.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with all members of the workforce.
  • Analyze and identify process improvement opportunities including; safety, efficiency, quality, and emissions related activities relating to limestone processing, calcination, hydration, and handling.
  • Develop, manage, and implement capital projects.
  • Assist different departments to investigate and find the root cause of problems.
  • Be the main contact for Graymont process group.
  • Working in a team environment, coordinate and manage multiple projects and assignments, analyze process data, troubleshoot plant operations, and assist in the implementation of solutions.
  • Implement and maintain Quality Management Systems (QMS) in coordination with corporate QMS team.
  • Have an understanding of ASTM (American Society For Testing and Materials) Standards with the willingness to learn the standards and testing for quicklime, hydrate, mortars, and masonry.
  • Supervise the Quality Assurance Lab and oversee analytical testing methods including but not limited to: testing hydrate and quicklime, LECO Carbon, and Sulfur Analysis
  • Work with HSE Specialist with the collection, testing and reporting in accordance to environmental permitting.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum B.S. degree in a technical and/or engineering field.
  • 4+ years of engineering or technical experience in lime, cement, or similar industrial minerals or heavy industries.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Self-starter with very strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Background in statistical analysis.
