Job Purpose

The Material Coordinators is an essential part of the team and ensures the smooth flow of Materials necessary for all operations and projects. These Coordinators ensure that their company never runs out of necessary Materials. They work both as part of a team and Material Coordinators may be required to perform surveying inventory and reviewing the warehouse stocks.

Duties & Responsibilities

OPERATIONAL

  • Material Coordinators ensure the steady flow of Materials necessary for operations. Because operations have limited storage space for raw Materials, Coordinators make sure there's adequate supply without over-ordering or wasting resources.
  • These Coordinators manage the supply of products to internal customers, making sure there are adequate Materials to ensure steady production. They monitor Materials flow to identify bottlenecks and forecast problems.
  • Material Coordinators observe trends and customer requests to create and maintain inventory schedules. Keeping track of operations requirements and purchasing expectations helps Material Coordinators make sure the right number of products is always available.
  • Facilitate Master Data creation and Bill of Material Creation and management
  • Routinely report planning transactions through the integration platform, and routinely update the same for accuracy
  • Ensure to continuously improve use of ERP systems for planning to have better visibility of Materials required to support projects/ operations
  • Cross functional coordination to ensure a smooth support of the function
  • Organizing and scheduling deliveries is the Material Coordinators' responsibility. They sometimes also process internal customer shipment inquiries or complaints and schedule changes or cancellations for shipment orders.
  • Material Coordinators act as liaisons between Operations / Projects and other departments. They receive project plans and additional information to determine timelines and necessary Materials. They also work to coordinate suppliers on as required basis.

  • Active participation and contribution to specific safety initiatives in meetings.
  • Report all hazardous and unsafe acts.
  • Actively promote positive safety culture.
PEOPLE SKILLS
  • Promotes a safe, and productive and mutually respective work environment ensuring the team keeps training and certifications current
  • Promptly escalates potential issues and concerns to the customer' client account manager and Danos management
  • Represent Danos's reputation and image with the client organization
  • Be a strong communication agent internally (between functions and locations) and externally to promote the best practices and performance across all the stakeholders.
  • Ensure that Danos team as well as any 3 rd party service provider who support the Company are aware of the expectations in the contract
  • Able to understand strengths and weakness of the team and implement ongoing development programs to ensure that the team is utilized to their best ability.
  • Be a steward to drive functional and process excellence
Knowledge, Skills & Ability

REQUIRED
  • Knowledge of shipping and receiving - Material Coordinators plan and verify incoming and outgoing shipments and fully understand the process of preparing and receiving shipments
  • Knowledge of manufacturing process - managing the supply of Materials for manufacturing means Material Coordinators are highly skilled in all processes related to the manufacturing their company performs
  • Critical thinking - Material Coordinators can think clearly and rationally about every task at hand. They often work independently to review logistics and can analyze situations to solve problems and create solutions
  • Time management - Material Coordinators must keep tight schedules and possess the ability to prioritize, schedule, and set and meet manufacturing goals
  • Organization skills - managing a production line requires coordinating multiple parts of the manufacturing process to run smoothly, so Material Coordinators must stay organized and keep production flowing at an appropriate pace
  • Communication skills - Material Coordinators work within a team and are often the only point of contact between the manufacturing department and suppliers
