Emergency Medicine Medical Student Clerkship Program Support
- Schedule GW medical students in each 4-week slot/rotation; schedule physician assistant students into 6-week rotation slots. Set separate schedules up in E*value for each rotation, and make sure that each rotation is connected to the appropriate activities for the rotation. Review visiting student applications in VSAS to approve them for invitations to rotate at GW. Select applicants based on defined criteria, which will initiate an invitation letter being sent from the Dean's Office. Closely monitor the GW student registrations database and the VSAS invitations to ensure that each rotation block is not overbooked. After visiting students accept offers to rotate at GW, download their information/picture from VSAS and set each student up in E*value. Each visiting student, along with GW students are then scheduled in E*value into the appropriate rotation and block.
- One month prior to the start of each rotation, send Orientation & Systems Training information to GW students for their shifts at the VA Hospital. This is a requirement of the VA Hospital for students to be set-up in their system at least one month in advance of their start date.
- Bachelor's degree in Basic Sciences, International Relations, Public Health, Education, and/or a combination of education and training in a related field.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience providing administrative and/or education program support.
