Job Summary/Basic Function:
Responsible for monitoring project plans, schedules, work hours, budgets, and expenditures, organizing and participating in stakeholder meetings, and ensuring that project deadlines are met in a timely manner.
Department Overview:
The OIT Project Management Office (PMO) prioritizes, plans, and executes information technology projects on behalf of University stakeholders. We specialize in bringing together diverse project teams and OIT professionals to implement meaningful projects in an efficient, thoughtful manner.
Level Scope:
Entry-level professional with limited or no prior experience to contribute to a project or work team. Incumbent learns to use professional concepts to resolve problems of limited scope and complexity under close supervision while achieving day-to-day objectives. Works on developmental assignments that are initially routine in nature, requiring limited judgment and decision-making. This level is typically focused on self-development. Requires theoretical knowledge through specific education and training.
Essential Functions:
• Maintain and monitor project plans, project schedules, work hours, budgets, and expenditures.
• Organize, attend, and participate in stakeholder meetings.
• Document and follow up on important actions and decisions from meetings.
• Prepare necessary presentation materials for meetings.
• Ensure project deadlines are met.
• Determine project changes.
• Provide administrative support as needed.
• Undertake project tasks as required.
• Develop project strategies.
• Ensure projects adhere to frameworks and all documentation is maintained appropriately for each project.
• Assess project risks and issues and provide solutions where applicable.
• Ensure stakeholder views are managed towards the best solution.
• Chair and facilitate meetings where appropriate and distribute minutes to all project team members.
• Create a project management calendar for fulfilling each goal and objective.
• Assist with or lead training needs for projects, including planning, logistics, documentation, facilitation, communications, and gathering feedback.
• Coordinate the Software Accessibility and Review Board process, including intake of submissions, monitoring requests in the workflow, communicating with requesters, and updating related documentation.
• Additional duties determined by department needs.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
• Ability to work on tight deadlines
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel.
• Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills.
• Knowledge of file management, transcription, and other administrative procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent relevant professional experience.
Salary and Benefits:
Starting salary is $43,000/per year, commensurate with experience.
