Our client is seeking a Propulsion Engineer to work on a hybrid schedule out of North Charleston, SC on W2.

Job Title: Propulsion Engineer

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in Computer Aided Design for drafting
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Marine Engineering
• 3 to 5 years of professional experience in the Maritime Industry
• Experience in writing and conducting test procedures
• Experience in technical writing, including the development of Work Items, Technical Manuals, Training Manuals, and Proposals
• Ability to conduct Ship Checks for cost estimates and engineering changes for propeller system upgrades and repairs
• Experience in supporting R&D projects and production requirements
• Ability to research, develop, and apply advanced engineering concepts to solve complex manufacturing problems
• Experience in reviewing new designs for production ability, considering factors such as cost, quality, safety, delivery, and production capabilities

Responsibilities:

• Develop and draft designs using Computer Aided Design tools
• Conduct tests, write procedures, and manage events
• Develop technical manuals, training manuals, and proposals
• Conduct Ship Checks to develop cost estimates and engineering changes for propeller system upgrades and repairs
• Support R&D projects and production requirements
• Work with a Production team to quickly identify and resolve problems
• Apply advanced engineering concepts to solve complex manufacturing problems
• Review new designs for production ability, considering factors such as cost, quality, safety, delivery, and production capabilities
• Manage and prioritize multiple project timelines
• Optimize, add new features, and improve existing control systems
• Conduct field upgrades and startups
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues
• Travel domestically and internationally as needed
