Public Relations Manager 

Location:  Kohler, WI


The Public Relations Manager is responsible for development and execution of earned media campaigns and driving integrated communications programs to support the global Kitchen & Bath Group, other Kohler Co. businesses and corporate initiatives.

This position requires a self-motivated dynamic communications professional who is passionate about building brands through creative storytelling with a proven ability to deliver strategically grounded ideas that generate results for the businesses. Fostering meaningful and ongoing relationships with Kohler Associates, industry stakeholders, business leaders and key target media is essential to success.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Develop public relations strategies and participate in cross-function strategic planning efforts that guide and define how proposed plans will deliver upon business objectives.
  • Conduct and lead proactive outreach efforts to support media campaigns and integrated communications programs; manage and execute quick response to incoming media inquiries.
  • Research, develop and organize product and trend information into creative and useful themes to generate coverage with appropriate media.
  • Write, edit and proofread materials including press releases, key messages, speaking points, captions, quotes, Q&A, fact sheets, pitches, brand narratives etc.
  • Lead speech writing assignments, develop executive presentations and collaborate on internal and corporate communications efforts.
  • Coordinate interviews with executives, product managers and external spokespeople, execute media tours, and manage trade media relations.
  • Work closely with the social media, digital and corporate communications teams teams to maintain consistency and execute the editorial strategy with appropriate content and tone of voice for all communications.
  • Conceptualize, plan and execute media events, sponsorships and explore new partnership opportunities.
  • Track, measure, and merchandise coverage and related program results.


  • Four-year degree required. Emphasis in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Advertising, or a related degree preferred.
  • At least eight years' experience in an agency or corporate environment. 
  • Must be a strategic thinker, team player and excellent communicator.
  • Strong writing and presentation skills required.
  • Adept in creative problem-solving, extremely resourceful, and proactive.
  • Ability to organize, multi-task and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced setting.
  • Positive attitude, nimble, and high-level of maturity and poise.
  • Inspire engagement with proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively depending on the nature of the project.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Teams.
