The Quality Assurance Engineer / Supervisor at our Dodge Manufacturing facility in Greenville, SC will report directly to the Quality Manager. The Quality Assurance Engineer / Supervisor provides overall quality engineering support for customers, manufacturing and engineering to increase customer satisfaction. They are responsible for helping to decrease warranty and scrap cost and improve overall product quality while interacting with other departments to efficiently meet customer needs. They will also be responsible for the supervision of part of the quality team.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Help maintain a safe and productive workplace for all employees, while focusing on quality improvement efforts.
  • Improve and maintain the gage calibration system and procedures to ISO and company standards.
  • Help meet Customer PPM goals and implement changes to reduce plant warranty.
  • Reduce scrap cost while improving production quality.
  • Develop and maintain systems to establish standards relating to new process and products by working with engineering and production personnel regarding quality assurance standards.
  • Participate/help execute ISO internal process audits.
  • Establish and implement necessary communication strategy for the improvement and awareness of quality issues across all departments.
  • Manage departmental employees and activities in accordance with agreed budgets and timescales.
  • Report as necessary on changes in standards (internally and externally initiated) and on performance against standards.
  • Work with customers and suppliers as necessary to remedy quality issues.
  • Increase plant quality culture through training awareness and shared learnings.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Ability to participate and help maintain the internal audit program with an effective corrective action system.
  • Ability to lead and facilitate teams in quality-related activities. Strong understanding of operational processes.
  • Project Management, problem solving, and process development skills.

Education and Experience:
  • Engineering or technical bachelor’s degree
  • Two years of manufacturing experience
  • Prior Lean training and/or certifications, preferred

Physical Requirements:
  • Able to lift 40 pounds
  • Able to travel (10%)
