Quality Control Supervisor

Martin Marietta is currently searching for our next Quality Control Supervisor for our asphalt plants in Minnesota.

Position Summary

• Reports to, and works closely with, the QC Manager
• Directly supervise Hourly QC Personnel
• Solid understanding of state specifications relating to Asphalt Mix, Materials and Testing
• Assist in trouble shooting asphalt mix issues with technicians and production
• Oversees the labs and equipment
• Mix design experience is crucial
• Ensures that all laboratory equipment is calibrated, functioning and properly maintained
• Provide technical assistance for technicians, sales, operations, etc.
• Supports, understands and participates directly in the company's safety culture
• Perform other duties as assigned by QC Manager
• Assist the QC Manager with scheduling and timekeeping of hourly QC Personnel

Minimum Education and Experience

• MNDOT Bituminous Mix Designer certification
• A valid, unrestricted driver's license
• Minimum of five years' combined experience in aggregate, and asphalt materials testing
• Strong computer skills

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Strong attention to detail and ability to understand and follow test procedures and instructions
• Effective communication and supervisory skills (written and verbal)
• Must be able to lead by example, have good coaching skills and be approachable
• Proficient in MS Office and computer skills
• Proactive in safety
• Works well independently as well as in a team environment

Work Environment

This is a full-time position in an indoor laboratory and outdoor environments. This role has regular local travel.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
