Job Description

Flexion is recruiting a remote DIRECT HIRE Quality Engineer for our Education/Training client. This position would be 100% remote.

Summary of Position

Our client is looking for a Quality Engineer who will ensure that work being created and delivered by a software development team meets requirements and satisfies the customer needs. Understanding requirements and testing against the pre-determined criteria for success will be an essential indicator of success. The ability to help others understand the importance of testing and creating advocates of building quality into the final product rather than inspecting quality is a primary objective of this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Review requirements to provide timely and meaningful feedback
• Create detailed, comprehensive, well-structured test plans and test cases
• Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities
• Design, develop, and execute automation scripts
• Identify, document, and track bugs
• Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved
• Improve continuous integration processes and tools
• Recommend new technologies and techniques to improve quality assurance processes
• Other duties as assigned

Skills, Experience and Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science / Software Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• 3+ years working as a quality engineer or similar role
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively about technical issues and bugs discovered
• Automated test suites: configuration, use, improvements
• Git or equivalent source control system(s)
• Ability to acclimate quickly to a rapidly changing environment
• Collaborative and cross-functional team member
• SQL and database experience
• Object-oriented software development experience
• 5+ years experience programming with C#, Python, or some other object-oriented language
• Selenium and HTML development experience
• Experience architecting and implementing QE processes for a web software development organization
• Atlassian Products (JIRA, Confluence, Stash, Bamboo)
• Agile / Scrum methodologies
