R&D Manufacturing Coordinator (Experienced Level Professional)

MISSION:

As the R&D Manufacturing Coordinator you would collaborate with Tire Designers, Quality/Manufacturing Engineers, and Supply Chain Planners to ensure the execution of development tire builds to meet project deadlines. This role is part of a cross-functional team of tire designers and engineers from the manufacturing facility and Michelin America's Research Center who are experts in tire manufacturing and materials. The team's purpose is to expedite new tire technologies to market through innovations in our tire building processes. The current portfolio of projects involves manufacturing with new materials, waterjet cutting, and 3D printing to accelerate tire design iterations to provide tires for OE customers and EV/Zero emission vehicles.

Michelin's Spartanburg facility serves as the North American leader for exploring new manufacturing technologies to continue our legacy of innovation by producing industry leading tires for the future.

KEY EXPECTED ACHIEVEMENTS:

  • Plan the build events fo research and development projects.
  • Creates short & long-term planning of industrialization events
  • Coordinates prototyping activities with production teams
  • Reduce the time to market of new product launches and optimize the industrialization of prototype tires and new technologies.
  • Balance the resource load with the RDI (Research and Development Industrialization) capacities of the Michelin Americas Research Center and Industry resources.
  • Manages a project development mission and drives progress initiatives aimed at innovation and improvement on existing and new products.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team
  • Strong collaborative approach with various teams
  • Time and risk management
  • Project management and procurement experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (BI, Sharepoint)
  • Manufacturing or supply chain experience preferred
