Contributions

As a Steampunk React/Ruby Software Developer, you will be working with a team of software engineers, designers, and product managers to bring our teams conceptual solutions to life in a mature Agile/DevSecOps environment. You will be leveraging your experience by working with different application teams and technology stacks in order to provide our clients with exceptional solutions and functional products.

As a developer, you will be hands on with the development of new functionality and will be expected to not only deliver product releases, but also to ensure solutions follow Steampunk's philosophy of human centered design and co-created experiences. Steampunk developers are committed to continuously learning and aren't afraid of solving a challenging problem with self-motivation and determination.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience with Ruby and React, ReactJS, or related
  • 1+ years experience with Ruby, Ruby on Rails, or related
  • Familiar with developing as a member of a team in a GitHub environment (Repositories, Pull Requests, GitLab, and related)
  • Ability to thrive on an active collaborative team with a strong pair programming practice
  • Must be US Citizen
  • Ability to obtain a public trust
  • Interest in working in a social team
  • Mission focused and a self starter/independent and scrappy
  • Someone who enjoys less formality and more freedom
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Demonstrate sharp, analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
  • 5+ years of experience with software development, software architecture, APIs, and microservices
  • 5+ years of experience with building software using agile methods
  • 3+ Experience with multiple back-end languages (e.g. C, C#, Java, Python, Ruby on Rails) and JavaScript frameworks (e.g. Angular.js, React, Node.js)
  • 1+ years of experience with database engineering, and manipulating relational and NOSQL databases
  • 1+ years of experience with automating tests for determining quality, security, performance and usability of a system.
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as OpenShift, EKS, and Docker
  • Experience writing and evaluating user stories, acceptance criteria, and pull-requests
  • Experience working in HCD, Agile and DevSecOps environments
Preferred Skills / Attributes:
  • Experience in paired programming and Extreme Programming
  • Experience Lean Design, Test Driven Development (TDD), and Behavior Driven Development (BDD)
  • A passion to contribute to the full stack - the front-end, backend and anything in-between (middleware or otherwise).
