POSITION PURPOSE:
Lead field distribution activities targeted at achieving service, cost, and quality goals for assigned logistics networks.



IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to excel at the essential functions assigned. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability required.



Experience
* 5 - 7 years of progressive experience in sales, quality, operations, or other distribution related position.
* Understanding of the transportation industry, especially final mile operations.
* Proven ability to lead complex projects through completion.
* Experience working in a multiple-plant or warehouse/distribution center environment is a plus
* Track record of successful project management and team leadership
* Hands on experience and understanding of ERP systems (Oracle preferred)
* Demonstrated ability to build business relationships and work effectively with all levels of employees within an organization; the customer's organization; and outside vendors and suppliers
* Experience with developing and managing scorecards that supports logistics network efficiencies



Skills
* Excellent personal computer skills in a network environment
* Highly developed Microsoft skills with a focus on Excel
* Drive, determination, and discipline of a self-starter; must be able to work independently
* The ability to learn and utilize assorted freight / traffic information and billing systems
* Highly-detail oriented and must be able to work independently
* Exceptional verbal and written communication and presentation skills are required
* Ability to listen to problem statements and discussions, with the ability to pick out key data points that can be used to validate or refute assumptions
* Strong planning, time management, and prioritization skills
* Must operate efficiently and effective within a team environment with the ability to flex and adapt as needed



Education
* Undergraduate degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field; extensive experience will be considered in lieu of an undergraduate degree





ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Lead daily operations of the delivery network including training, evaluation, and compliance to American Woodmark product handling specifications within assigned networks.
* Recommends changes to the sourcing of network providers.
* Influences the evaluation and selection of 4PL providers.
* Manages the execution of the Quality System including interface with internal Quality organization
* Manages operational relationships with supply chain services departments, interface with 4pl organizations, and internal clients including liaison to servicing plant, delivery providers, customer service, quality, and sales regional teams.
* Facilitate problem resolution with both internal and external client and providers.
* Manage and updates Client/Provider agreement relationships
* Leads special projects as assigned, influences content and team member selection.
* Cross-train and develop proficiency in all areas of the Distribution Team.
* Provides training on Logistics programs to clients.
* Implement best practice initiatives to improve service and/or minimize costs.
* Participate in back-up work, as needed, to meet team responsibilities and goals.
* Support efforts by all members of the American Woodmark team to continuously improve team, location, and company performance.
* Perform other duties as directed by supervisor.
* Supervisory Responsibilities:
* This position does not have any direct reports. However, this position is responsible for mentoring of internal field operations personnel, along with dotted line authority with outsourced delivery providers.





SCOPE & EXPECATIONS:
* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk or hear; and occasionally required to sit
* The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms
* Typical office environment and use all required PPE
* Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
* Reports to: Distribution Network Manager
* Occasional weekend work may be required
* Travel Requirements:
o Less than 50% travel can be expected

* Offers may be contingent upon successful completion of Background Check, Drug Screen, Physical Examination and/or potential Motor Vehicle Check.
