RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Release Manager in Chicago, IL.Overview:Core responsibilities of the Release/Conversion Manager are organizing, managing, and controlling activities across multiple projects ranging from small to large in scope and complexity.This person will work within the Technology Program Management Office to ensure that the various component projects of our integrated software release and data conversion will meet customer needs and are brought together and released on time with high quality, and the overall release reflects the best choices among scope, costs, and time for the company.This role will participate on a peer level with Release Managers and other Coordinators and will have Testing, Environment, Data and Application resources assigned to the release/conversion initiative.Detailed Responsibilities:
  • The candidate will be responsible for managing the release process end-to-end, from the planning of release content through to actual release deployment to production; The candidate will also plan the deployment of software releases of products and the in-house applications
  • Incorporates a robust change management process for documenting the software release; Actively champions and evolves the process
  • Coordinates status reporting through the Technology PMO to provide visibility to executive level updates and reporting
  • Works with the business users, other Release managers, vertical Release Coordinators, and internal cross teams to prioritize and scope scheduled releases (PAT, Mock, and Production Releases); Monitors progress of phases by employing appropriate metrics and management reporting. Facilitates all release/conversion meetings
  • Concisely and fully documents and distributes all release/conversion material; Schedules reviews as necessary to ensure all stakeholders are aware of the impacts of the software release or conversion


REQUIREMENTS:

  • A Bachelor's degree with coursework in Computer Science, Information Systems and Business Management is necessary
  • Project management experience, change management and configuration management processes, expertise in quality assurance and quality control, and who may have experience as an application/software developer are a plus
  • Candidates for this position will require experience working with and managing the cross-impacts of multiple corporate subsidiaries, divisions and departments; From business analysts, subject matter experts to application developers, configuration management analysts, IT architects and testers
  • The candidate must have large Banking experience related to integrations and data conversions
  • Strong experience in software release engineering, and/or configuration management
  • The candidate must possess a strong technical background in information technology management; System Development Life Cycles; Strong program and project management skills; strong knowledge of testing and defect tracking tools such as HP Quality Center; And excellent presentation and communication skills


The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
