We are looking for an experienced Research Engineer to join our computer vision/multimodal team in GenAI. We are a passionate team building really large scale Llama models on some of the largest training clusters with extremely large volumes of data leading to unforeseen multimodal capabilities. This requires solving many challenging research problems at scale spanning data, model design and scaling, pre-training, post-training, evaluations and exploring new multimodal capabilities. We partner closely with text teams to enable this. Projects in the team include but not limited to: a. Designing multimodal models and media encoders at scale b. Data exploration to cover a variety of multimodal capabilities and c. post-training exploration to add novel capabilities. Research Engineer, Computer Vision and Multimodal - GenAI Responsibilities:

  • Leading, collaborating, and executing on research that pushes forward the state of the art
  • Contributing to experimental design, implementation, evaluation, and reporting results
  • Working with and creating large datasets and benchmarks


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Masters in computer science, computer engineering, or relevant technical field
  • 3+ years of industry experience in computer vision and/or machine learning
  • Research experience in one or more of these areas: computer vision, multimodal perception, NLP, or HCI+perception
  • Experience writing software and executing complex experiments
  • Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment


Preferred Qualifications:

  • PhD in computer vision and/or machine learning or related areas
  • 2+ years of industry, academic, or government lab experience in computer vision and/or machine learning
  • Publication record at AI conferences (ICCV, CVPR, NeurIPS, ICML, ACL, NAACL, CHI, ISMAR, UIST, VR, etc.)
  • Hands on experience working with really large scale models, preferably transformer models.
  • Background in LLM, multimodal training or computer vision
