The Department of Medicine, Division of Medical Oncology has an exciting opportunity for a Full-Time Research Support Coordinator to work on the UHealth Campus. The Research Support Coordinator will support the varied projects of the Lung Cancer Screening in Hispanic cancer survivors, leading a wide range of financial and operational project support tasks. The Research Support Coordinator will work closely with the Principal Investigator (PI) and other project members to complete a wide range of financial and operational project and proposal support tasks.

  • Pre-screen patients, contact physicians who will see potentially eligible patients, consent participants to the study, perform the survey questionnaire, randomization, and provide the lung cancer screening education.
  • Ensure that the patients undergo blood collection and the blood collected arrives safely at the biospecimen shared resources
  • Work together with the BCSR throughout the study duration
  • Monitor project data, routinely update project information systems and dashboards.
  • Make appointments, meeting arrangements, and coordinates activities between PI(s), co-Investigators (co-Is), subcontractors, clients, and other outside parties.
  • Prepare, monitor, and update project plans, coordinate project meetings, and take meeting minutes.
  • Identify, assess, and resolve issues on projects, and escalate complex issues appropriately to PI.
  • Collaborate with senior staff and other project managers to plan, implement, and communicate project management improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain tactical responsibility for tracking project status.
  • Coordinate between key study team members for collaborations.
  • Develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and collaborative problem solving.
  • Manage timeline around grant proposal writing activities and study reporting.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated effective communication (written, verbal, and presentation skills) in a collaborative environment
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisor, technical staff, and clients.
  • Ability to operate in a team environment and be flexible in taking on and performing assignments as necessary.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Ability to perform duties that require close attention to detail.
